They must have even out of their minds. This was my personal favorite illustration, as well as design.

this was actually my favorite entry for this contest. I'm surprised it didn't win

Thanks! That's really nice to hear. I was flabbergasted that it made it as far as it did! That first place is entry is pretty awesome.

I'll admit the first place one is pretty cool but it doesn't really look all that different from the original costume. I'm not one to judge though seeing how I've never really read anything relating to aquaman haha. Im thinking about entering the new spiderman redesign contest... any advice?

I think the secret to any good costume design is simplicity. Most good superhero designs can be recreated easily by a 7 year old with some crayons. It's also a balancing act between keeping the character recognizable but bringing in something fresh and new. Look back at every one of those winners, if you showed them to a child they'd still be able to say, hey that's Superman, that's Batman, that's Wonder Woman, but there's still a bold new take there.

That being said, Spider-Man's costume is a bitch because it's basically already perfect. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing for it. Good luck! :)

Fantastic. Love the Aqualad colour scheme and the bare feet. This was my favourite out of all the winners and runners up.
